Thin and lonely line ©2016 Chris Karabas

Regret can be a whale that’s gonna swallow you whole
Other times it’s more like a sewer rat taking bites out of your soul.
Sometimes life gets complicated and mistakes get made
All of my sins I’ve confessed. So they don't crowd me in my grave

There’s a thin and lonely line between right and wrong
And the choices that you make each day will tell you which side you’re living on
Compromises chip away at you until the man that you knew was gone.
And there’s a thin and lonely line between right and wrong

Secrets are the darkness where the truth likes to hide
But just because there ain’t a witness, doesn’t mean there ain’t no crime.
Losing it all is the price you’ll pay, if you want to take that chance
And loneliness is worse than depression… cuz there’s no audience

You either pull yourself together, or play the hand you’ve been dealt.
IT takes a lot more than a mirror, to look deep inside yourself
Nobody said that life is perfect.. but it could be a whole lot worse
So be thankful for all my blessings, and pray to GOD they don’t become your curse.
